Samsung to showcase 3 C Lab Projects Welt Rink TipTalk at CES 2016

Samsung will be showcasing three Creative Lab (C-Lab) projects at CES 2016. For those unaware, C-Lab is Samsungs incubator program for employees with innovative ideas. Samsung says that the C-Lab program is "one of Samsungs innovation programs, which helps its employees to nurture their own creative business ideas."

The three new projects are, Welt, a smart healthcare belt, rink, a hand motion controller for VR devices and TipTalk, a new user experiece (UX) that enables users to hear sounds, transmitted through their own body. 

Welt is a healthcare belt that helps users manage their waist size by measuring their daily habits and behavior. It records the users waist size, eating habits and the number of step taken as well as time spent sitting. The data gathered is set to an app for analysis, and for other purposes including personalized healthcare and weight management plans. 

Rink is a hand-motion controller for VR devices, such as Gear VR that lets users intuitively control the game by using hands gestures. 

TipTalk is a watch strap accessory that can be added to analog or smartwatches like the Gear S2. After attaching, the accessory will let users listen sounds from their smartwach, like listening music or receiving called without a headset, but by simply touching their finger to their ears. Samsung states that this will enhance the clarity of calls, enabling user to hear even in noise-sensitive or loud environments.

These products are still in development process, and will be showcased for the first time. Samsung wants to assess the market potentials of Welt, Rink and TipTalk, and gather feedback from CES attendees, so that the company can make improvements on them.
